The Yoga Sutras



The Yoga Sutras were written by Sage Patanjali. The Sage wrote 196 Sutras, which are
instructions and guidance for our Minds health. The Sutras give clear and concise advice
on the Mind, the Thoughts and How to master these obstacles in daily life.

The goal of the Sutras is for the individual to become aware of the Mind and its thought
processes, and to eventually become absorbed in what Sage Patanjali calls Samadhi.

The practice of Yoga is offered as a traditional method to attain absorbtion in a state of
mind where the thoughts subside and a state of ‘no thought’ can be achieved.

The 8 rungs of Yoga are likened to a ladder that one must climb to reach the goal.
